Bitcoin after PCE barely moved. The September PCE price index came out at 12:30 UTC on 29 October 2026, with headline inflation at 3.6% year over year and core at 3.1%. BTC ran a $242 candle at the release, then sat 0.09% above its pre-release close 55 minutes later, still $1,150 under the day's open, and the 4h bias on BTC stays bearish.

What happened

The Bureau of Economic Analysis report was released at 8:30 a.m. EDT, which is 12:30 UTC (15:30 MSK). The PCE price index rose 0.5% in September and 3.6% from a year earlier. Core PCE, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.3% on the month and 3.1% on the year. FXStreet reports headline PCE up from 3.4% in August and core from 3.0%, with core in line with its 3.1% consensus. It lists no consensus for the headline number, so we do not call the print a surprise either way.

Structure context

Four-hour bias of BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, BNB and DOGE, all bearish, next to their small gains since 12:25 UTC
BiasNex engine 4h bias and Binance 5m closes, 29 Oct 2026, 13:25 UTC

All six coins in the strip are slightly higher since 12:25 UTC, and all six read bearish on the 4h chart. Bitcoin (+0.09%), XRP (+0.11%) and Dogecoin (+0.32%) are bearish in a trend. Ethereum (+0.11%), Solana (+0.25%) and BNB (+0.29%) are bearish in a correction.

On BTC the engine's latest 4h event is an external bearish CHoCH at $80,684.36, stamped to the 24 October 08:00 UTC bar. On the 15m chart the latest event is an external bearish BOS at $80,400 from 01:45 UTC today, while 15m bias reads bullish in a pullback. Bitcoin's daily open was $81,343.51, so price spent the release hour about 1.4% below it. The two timeframes can disagree; that is how market structure works, and our methodology explains how bias is computed.

What to watch next

  • 13:30 UTC. The 1h window closes and the first row of dashes can be filled.
  • 16:00 UTC. The 12:00 four-hour candle closes, the first 4h close after the release.
  • 16:30 UTC. The 4h reaction window closes.
  • 15m and 4h structure. A new BOS or CHoCH is what changes the engine's reading; one wide candle does not.
