If you are asking what is Toncoin: it is the native coin of The Open Network (TON), the blockchain tied to Telegram. Since June 2026 the token has a new name and ticker, Gram (GRAM), while the network is still called TON. For a trader that matters: the TON/USDT pair disappeared from Binance, data feeds built on the old symbol went stale, and trading carried on as GRAM. Over the 90 days to 12 October 2026 the coin's average daily range was 4.78%, 1.76 times Bitcoin's, and its correlation with BTC was 0.57, below BNB (0.70) and Dogecoin (0.83).
Below: what happened to the ticker and how it shows in the data, what the coin does on the network and in Telegram, our 90-day hourly profile, supply, venues, the BTC link and the 1h structure. We computed every number ourselves and dated it.
What is Toncoin and why is it now called GRAM
Toncoin is the native coin of the TON network. ton.org (checked 12 October 2026) describes it as "Toncoin (Gram)", used to pay fees and to take part in validation and voting. It lists a transfer fee of about 0.00039 Gram and about 0.001 Gram for a USDt transfer, says fees stay fixed regardless of network load, and gives a block time of about 0.4 seconds with finality in about 0.6 seconds. The same page describes the Telegram integration: Telegram Stars can be bought with Gram, Telegram Premium can be paid for with a crypto wallet, and Telegram ad revenue can be paid out in Gram, citing "1B+ active users".
The rename went like this. On 1 June 2026 Telegram CEO Pavel Durov wrote on his channel that Toncoin would be rebranded as Gram, the name of TON's currency in the first white paper; the network keeps the name The Open Network (Decrypt, 1 June 2026). At Binance, per the Binance TH announcement (times in UTC+7): on 30 June at 10:00 TON deposits and withdrawals were suspended and the TON/USDT spot pair was delisted; on 2 July at 15:30 GRAM deposits, withdrawals and spot trading opened (GRAM/USDT, GRAM/USDC, GRAM/FDUSD); every TON was swapped to GRAM at 1 TON = 1 GRAM. In UTC that is 03:00 on 30 June and 08:30 on 2 July.
What it means for data. On Binance the GRAMUSDT candles start on 2 July at 08:00 UTC. The first trading day opened at 1.60, ran up to 1.80 and dipped to 1.558, a 15.1% range. CoinGecko now lists the coin as "Gram (prev. Toncoin)", id the-open-network, rank 33 by market cap, price $1.39. Every number below uses GRAMUSDT: the same coin, under the new symbol. When we checked on 12 October, GRAM pairs were live on Binance, Bybit, OKX, KuCoin, Gate, MEXC and Bitget, while Coinbase and Kraken still listed TON-USD and TONUSD.
How TON trades: the 90-day fingerprint
We took every 1h GRAMUSDT candle from 14 July to 12 October 2026 (2,160 candles, all after the rename) and averaged the high-to-low range for each UTC hour.

- Average daily range: 4.78%. Bitcoin's was 2.72% over the same window, so TON's range is 1.76 times BTC's.
- Busiest hour: 14:00 UTC (17:00 MSK), averaging 1.31% per hour, followed by 16:00 (1.17%) and 15:00 (1.15%).
- Second bump: 05:00 UTC (08:00 MSK) at 1.11%, clearly above its neighbours. BNB and Dogecoin show no such early peak in this data.
- Quietest hour: 23:00 UTC, at 0.73%. The peak is 1.8 times wider.
- By session (our UTC buckets): 13:00 to 21:00 averages 1.05% per hour, 00:00 to 08:00 averages 0.96%, 08:00 to 13:00 averages 0.92% and 21:00 to midnight averages 0.82%. The Asian window is TON's second-busiest part of the day.
By weekday, Friday was widest (5.80% average daily range), then Tuesday (5.39%); Sunday was narrowest (3.98%). Weekends averaged 4.05% against 5.07% on weekdays. In the last 89 closed days, 31 had a range above 5%, about 35%, and the median was 4.02%. The three widest days were 17 July (12.5% range, closing -1.4% from the open), 26 September (12.4%, +10.8%) and 27 September (11.6%, +0.9%).
It is tempting to blame Telegram news for those days. We do not, because we have no dated source tying them to a specific announcement, and attaching a news story to a move without a source is guesswork. What the data does support: a 3% stop sits inside TON's ordinary daily noise. To turn the hourly profile into a schedule, see the best time to trade crypto study and the trading sessions tool.
TON supply: what we can and cannot say
CoinGecko on 12 October 2026: 2.83 billion circulating, 5.27 billion total supply, a $3.94 billion market cap and a $7.33 billion fully diluted valuation (FDV). CoinGecko lists no maximum supply.

Circulating supply is 54% of total. The 2.44 billion gap is not necessarily locked, and we found no unlock calendar in the sources we checked (ton.org and CoinGecko), so the chart shows none.
Where TON trades
We read 24-hour spot volume from the public tickers of nine venues on 12 October 2026 at about 20:30 UTC.

Binance printed $9.6 million, 31% of the $30.6 million across the nine; Bybit ($5.9 million), KuCoin ($4.2 million) and OKX ($4.1 million) follow. Of the three coins we looked at this week (BNB, Dogecoin, TON) it is the thinnest market: BNB's spot volume across the same nine venues was $116.1 million. GRAM perpetuals traded $17.3 million on Binance and $9.9 million on Bybit, roughly 1.7 to 1.8 times spot; Dogecoin's Binance perpetual is 7.6 times spot.
The Coinbase and Kraken pairs, still named TON-USD and TONUSD when we checked, did $0.7 million and $0.8 million: they are in the total but barely move the price.
TON vs BTC
Over the 90 days, TON's daily returns correlated 0.57 with Bitcoin's, against 0.70 for BNB and 0.83 for Dogecoin. That is the most independent of the three, but independent is not the same as safe.

The rolling 30-day correlation starts the window at 0.58, climbs to 0.72 by late August, drops to 0.44 in early October and ends at 0.51. The window is shorter than for other coins: 30-day values need 30 days of GRAMUSDT data, which began on 2 July. A BTC hedge is imprecise at this correlation; start with the Bitcoin guide if you need the benchmark.
Reading TON's structure
The chart shows GRAMUSDT on the 1h timeframe from 9 to 12 October 2026, with the BiasNex engine's structure events and levels: previous-day high 1.475, previous-day low 1.435 and the nearest liquidity pool above, BSL, at 1.481.

At 10:00 UTC on 11 October the engine marked a bearish change of character at 1.444. At 09:00 UTC on 12 October it marked a bearish external break of structure at 1.435, the previous-day low, and price slid toward 1.38. The engine's 1h read was a bearish trend at that point, which matches the lower highs and lower lows in market structure terms. The engine's live read for the coin is on the Toncoin markets page; the chart is a GRAMUSDT snapshot of 12 October.
Risks
- Ticker confusion. TONUSDT data on Binance stopped on 30 June. A tool that still shows TONUSDT there is showing a stale price. Check that the pair is GRAMUSDT.
- Thin market. Spot volume across all nine venues is about $30 million a day, so large orders move price more than for BNB or Dogecoin.
- Wide range, loose BTC link. At 4.78% a day and 0.57 correlation, a BTC hedge is imprecise.
- "Migrations" and "claims". Binance swapped balances 1 to 1 on its own platform. If a third-party site asks you to migrate tokens, check ton.org first.
