Crypto week ahead, 19–25 October 2026: the scheduled calendar is thin. The only releases we found on the official BLS schedule are minor (state employment on Tuesday, weekly earnings on Wednesday), the FOMC meeting is the following week (27–28 October), and the one clock-related event is on Sunday 25 October, when the EU and UK move their clocks back. The structure picture is mixed: five of our twelve tracked coins have a bearish 4h bias, four are neutral and three are bullish.

This is a plan for the week, not a forecast. Everything below is a date, a time or a measured number, checked on 18 October 2026.

Crypto week ahead: the events

Table of the week's scheduled events: BLS state jobs data on Tuesday, BLS weekly earnings on Wednesday, EU and UK clocks go back on Sunday 25 October at 01:00 UTC
BLS release calendar and gov.uk · as of 18 Oct 2026 · MSK is UTC+3 all year
  • Tuesday 20 October, 10:00 ET (14:00 UTC, 17:00 MSK): State Employment and Unemployment for September, from the BLS release schedule. It is a regional report, not the national jobs report. The national Employment Situation was due on 2 October and CPI on 14 October, both already out.
  • Wednesday 21 October, 10:00 ET (14:00 UTC, 17:00 MSK): Usual Weekly Earnings for the third quarter, also from the BLS schedule. The page notes the calendar can change.
  • Sunday 25 October: the UK goes back to GMT at 02:00 local time, which is 01:00 UTC. The Dutch government gives 25 October for the EU. Crypto trades through it, and UTC does not change. MSK stays UTC+3, so the moment is 04:00 MSK.
  • Next week, not this one: the Federal Reserve calendar lists the FOMC meeting for 27–28 October 2026.

We found nothing else on the official sources we checked. That does not mean nothing will move the market: unscheduled news, exchange events and token unlocks are outside this calendar.

Why the clock change matters for crypto

Bitcoin has no daylight saving, so a daily candle still opens at 00:00 UTC. What shifts is when London opens, expressed in UTC. London opens at 08:00 local time. Until Saturday 24 October that is 07:00 UTC; from Monday 26 October it is 08:00 UTC. The US does not change until Sunday 1 November, when DST ends at 2:00 a.m. local time on the first Sunday of November (NIST).

That leaves a one-week mismatch. The New York 09:30 open stays at 13:30 UTC until 1 November, so from 26 October the gap between the London open (08:00 UTC) and the New York open (13:30 UTC) is 5.5 hours instead of 6.5. From 2 November it is 6.5 hours again. This is simple arithmetic on the published rules.

We use five session windows in our volatility data, defined in local time. This is how they move in UTC:

The London prep and main windows start one hour later in UTC from Monday 26 October; the New York windows stay put until 1 November
Engine window times in UTC · as of 18 Oct 2026

If you trade by UTC clock, re-check your alerts before Monday 26 October; the new times are listed in crypto session times after the clock change. The trading sessions tool shows the current session times, and kill zones vs sessions explains why anchoring to local time matters.

Where structure stands

We read the 4h bias of every coin we track from the BiasNex engine on 18 October 2026. Bias is the engine's read of the 4h swing structure, not a call on direction.

Bullish: SOL, NEAR, STRK. Neutral: BTC, TON, TAO, ZEC. Bearish: ETH, XRP, BNB, DOGE, SUI

A few details from the engine's latest structure events:

  • BTC is neutral in a range. Its latest 4h event is a bearish BOS on 15 October. Last week's weekly candle opened at 83,773.12 on 12 October, traded between 79,800 and 84,352 and was at 81,700.31 when we fetched it (Binance spot, the week is still open).
  • ETH and XRP are bearish in a trend, both with a bearish BOS on 15 October.
  • BNB, DOGE and SUI are bearish after a bearish BOS on 17 October.
  • SOL and STRK are bullish in a trend, NEAR is bullish in a pullback with a bearish CHoCH on 17 October.
  • TON, TAO and ZEC are neutral in ranges.

Session ranges: last week against average

How big were the moves in each of our five BTC windows? We compare the average range of the five weekday sessions of 12–16 October with the average of the last 10 completed sessions, as a percentage of price.

Last week's BTC range was above its 10-session average in all five engine windows, most clearly in the New York sweep window (1.11% vs 0.76%)
BiasNex /atr/window · BTCUSDT 15m · 12–16 Oct vs 10 sessions to 17 Oct · fetched 18 Oct 2026

All five windows ran above the 10-session average, with the New York sweep window at 1.11% against 0.76%. One caveat: the 10-session average includes the weekend of 10–11 October and Saturday 17 October, when ranges are usually smaller, so part of the gap is the weekday effect. For a fairer yardstick, compare weekday against weekday over several weeks.

What to watch

  1. Tuesday 20 October, 14:00 UTC: the BLS state employment release. A regional report, so a small event; note whether BTC reacts at all.
  2. The BTC range of 79,800 to 84,352: the high and low of last week's candle. A 4h close outside it would mean BTC has left the range the engine currently reads.
  3. The 15 October bearish BOS on BTC, ETH and XRP, and the 17 October one on BNB, DOGE and SUI: whether bias on these flips or holds.
  4. Monday 26 October, London window in UTC: the London windows move one hour later. Check you are looking at the right clock.
  5. The FOMC meeting on 27–28 October: one week away, so this week is the run-up to it. For how rate decisions tend to reach crypto, see what the FOMC decision means for crypto. The following week's calendar is in FOMC this week and Bitcoin.

Nothing here predicts where price goes. These are the places where the structure data and the calendar give a reason to look. More weekly and session guides are in the Learn ICT hub.
